Reduced speed limit coming on Lochside Drive

Saanich Council has approved Phase 2 of the Speed Limit Policy Implementation Plan at their December 4, 2023 meeting. Phase 1 ( already implemented in 2023) focused on major roads such as Cordova Bay, Fowler and Sayward Roads. Phase 2 of the speed limit policy implementation is focused on selected
residential streets in Saanich.

In Cordova Bay, Lochside Drive is expected to have its speed limit reduced to 30km/hr as its B its status as an AAA cycling route would require a lower speed limit. Bylaw enactment by council and subsequent posting of the new speed limit signs will occur sometime in 2024.

Saanich will consider adding more major roads and residential streets into the speed limit reduction program over time.
