    Eric Wallace McMorran Obituary

McMORRAN, Eric Wallace November 19, 1925 – October 11, 2015 Eric passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ, at The Lodge at Broadmead. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Helen and son Wallace (Doris), daughter Sharon (Tito), brothers Bruce, Richard (Beverly) and David (Irene), grandchildren Aaron and Benjamin de Castro, Kimberly Burkart (Jason), Deanna Rosenlund (Jordan), Jacqueline McMorran (Tyler Hass), 4 great-grandchildren Gracia, Hudson, Nora, Georgia and many nieces and nephews. Eric was born in Victoria and lived and worked here his whole life. He signed up with the Royal Canadian Navy and was stationed in Halifax during the WWII; returning to the family business. Like his father George, his passions were family, business and community. He was principally known as Mr. Hospitality through the BC Motels and Resorts Association and volunteered with many Hospitality Boards. He is most remembered as host and friend at the family business, particularly in the SeaView Ball Room with its Big Band Dance events, where many started relationships and created fond memories. Eric was a Brother in Saint Andrew’s Masonic Lodge AF&AM for over 65 years. His discipline of the values of the Lodge reflected in his caring of family and community through his life. Most important in all things were his reverence for God and worship as a member of Centennial United Church fellowship. Most remembered will be his animated, bright and caring attitude to all. There will be a private, family service and interment. Reception for friends and community is Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 2:30 – 4:00 at The Beach House, 5109 Cordova Bay Rd. Parking in the lot across the street or on Cordova Bay Rd. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Lodge at Broadmead or a charity of your choice.
