CBACA Board Update and Opportunities
Community Engagement / Events
Good news! I am pleased to announce that Jennifer Massullo has been appointed to the Board and is taking on the role of Community Engagement / Events. Jennifer has over 25 years of experience at some of Canada’s most celebrated hotels, most recently the Oak Bay Beach Hotel. With her appreciation of bringing people together through experiences that inspire connection and community spirit, the Board, with Jennifer’s leadership, looks forward to presenting opportunities to Cordova Bay residents to do just that. Stay tuned!
Opportunities: Openings on the Board
Don Hinz, Planning Co-chair has had to resign from the Board. Don was instrumental in stewarding CBACA through our detailed Saanich Referral Response on the proposed Aragon development. Many, many thanks Don, we wish you all the best.
CBACA therefore has two current openings on the Board: (1) Planning Co-Chair and (2) SCAN Representative.
1) As Planning Co-Chair, you would be the Board’s liaison with Saanich Planning on any referral requests CBACA receives from Saanich for developments happening in Cordova Bay.
2) As SCAN Representative, you would represent CBACA at SCAN meetings held once a month, September to June. SCAN (Saanich Community Association Network) is the umbrella organization for all community associations in Saanich, with each association providing one representative. SCAN’s purpose is to look at issues in Saanich that are common to many or all of the community associations and maintain communication with Saanich on these issues.
The CBACA Board meets once a month, September to June.
Helping Hand Needed: The Cordovan
Another area where CBACA could use a helping hand is with the Cordovan Team. We are looking for someone to help with the dropping off of Cordovan hard copies to the advertisers, the Red Barn free magazine shelf, and other organizations (not households). This would be twice per year, usually in early November and early April.
I encourage anyone interested in getting to know more about happenings in Cordova Bay through involvement on the Board or Cordovan team to get in touch with me at president@cbaca.ca.
I am happy to meet to discuss these opportunities in more detail.
