Cordova Bay Residential Streets to See 30 km/h Speed Limits Under New Saanich Policy
Residents can expect new signage and slower traffic on these streets starting in 2026, with more changes planned in future phases.
The Cordova Bay Association for Community Affairs would like to share the following from Saanich Slower Speeds Coming to Cordova Bay Residential Streets:
Saanich Council has approved a policy to reduce the default speed limit on most residential streets from 50 km/h to 30 km/h over the next four years. This change is intended to improve road safety, support more comfortable neighbourhood travel, and create calmer residential streets for everyone.
As part of the 2026 phase, Del Monte Ave, Claremont Ave, Wesley Rd, and Haliburton Rd will have speed limits reduced to 30 km/h, with signage installed to reflect the change.
Additional residential streets in Cordova Bay are expected to see reduced speed limits in the coming years as the program continues to roll out across the municipality.
