Nearly Underway- Cordova Bay Road Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project!

Construction on the much delayed Cordova Bay Road (CBR) pedestrian safety improvement project near Cordova Bay Elementary School is expected to begin on July 20, 2026. Construction is expected to take 8 months until completion.

The project involves a section of CBR between Rambler and Walema Roads. It also involves sidewalk construction along Fenn Avenue.

Details of the project include:

• Concrete sidewalk, concrete curb and bike lane on the west side of CBR
• Concrete curbs and bike lane/multi-use pathway on the east side of CBR.
• Sidewalk on the south side of Fenn Road / Parker Avenue from 5229 Cordova Bay Road to 5251 Parker Avenue.
• 3 new raised crosswalks complete with pedestrian activated flashing lights will be installed across CBR at Fenn Road, Rambler Road and Walema Road.
• Rambler Road at CBR will be realigned and the crossing at Rambler Road will be shortened with new corner ramps.
• Drainage improvements with new catch basins will be installed.
• Parking bays fronting the school and the park will be formalized.
• CBR and Fenn Ave will be repaved within the project area.
